Jele Croatian Women's Choir a joint concert with Tamburica "Dobri Decki"

The 18 - voice Jele Croatian Women's Choir will present a joint concert with Tamburica "Dobri Decki" at Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Catholic Church, February 26 at 4PM. Tickets are $10. Principal arranger and conductor John Morovich will give a pre-concert lecture at 3PM.

Jele will present traditional Croatian women's music specializing in regional vocal styles from strident two voice songs of the Dinaric region, to sweet, four part serenades of the Adriatic Seacoast, harvest songs of the Panonian plain, to the lyrical "popevke" of Podravina and Medjimurje with a heavy Hungarian influence. The concert will also feature music of Croats living in Bosna and Hercegovina and Southern Italy.

The Dobri Decki Tamburica orchestra will accompany Jele on several songs and will perform traditional tamburica tunes from the Slavonija region and will sing Klapa songs from Dalmatia.
