On the photo Zlatko Daliæ, coach of Croatian national soccer team, which won in a match with Iceland 2 - 1. Zlatko was born in the city of Livno in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and now lives in Croatia. Iceland was among the first countries which diplomatically recognized Croatia, on 19th December 1991. An interesting connection between Croatia and Iceland is the fact that Ivica Kosteliæ is married with Elin Arnarsdottir from Iceland. In Croatia's capital Zagreb there is a street named after Iceland (Islandska ulica), about 700 m of length.

HNS on Croatian Coat of Arms stands for Hrvatski Nogometni Savez - Croatian Football Union.
Nogomet = Football, is derived from noga - foot.

Iceland was among the first countries to diplomatically recognize Croatia, on 19th December 1991. However, the Croatian state continuity is very old:

Ivica Kosteliæ with his beautiful wife Elin Arnarsdottir from Iceland, immediately after their marriage in the church of St. Mark in Zagreb 2014.
Behind them are the flags of Croatia and Iceland. Second from the left is Ante Kosteliæ-Gips (gips = plaster, guess why this nickname!), father of Ivica and Janica Kosteliæ, famous skiers.
