Upon the invitation of AMCA Paris (a society of former students of Croatian Universities, living in Paris), Mauricij Frka Petešić and Darko Žubrinić had the honor to deliver a joint lecture entitled "Croatian Glagolitic culture and its European context" (May 4th 2017), with a special emphasis on Croatian-French relations. Two days later, D.Ž. had a short palaeographic course for children about Croatian Glagolitic, based on manuscripts written arround 1400 at Sorbonne in Paris by Georges d'Esclavonie (+1416), Croatian Glagolitic priest who entered into the history of French literature. On the photo are the lecturers with Mrs. Lamia Barbier Ruždić, president of AMCA Paris.

Joint lecture by Mauricij Frka-Petešić and Darko Žubrinić about Croatian Glagolitic culture in European context

Darko Žubrinić and Mauricij Frka-Petešić speaking among others about the Reims Evangelistary,
an amazing book a major part of which was written in Croatian Glagolitic Script in 1395.
The lecture was organized by AMCA Paris at Couvent des Franciscains,
7, rue Marie Rose, 75014 Paris, on May 4th 2017.

The organizer of the lecture by Mauricij Frka-Petešić and Darko Žubrinić was AMCA Paris.
The lecture was dedicated to the memory of Stanko Tenšek.

Glagolitic part of the Reims Evangelistary (known also as Texte du Sacre or Livre de Coronation) is dating from 1395,
written according to an even older Croatian Glagolitic missal (Omišalj Missal, 14th ct, from Omišalj on the island of Krk, kept in the Vatican Library).

Speaking about Georges d'Esclavonie, Croatian Glagolitic priest who  studied and lectured at the famous Sorbonne in Paris arround 1400.
In his manuscript written at Sorbonne, now kept at the Bibliotheque Municipale of the city of Tours, he expressly wrote
the following: "Istud alphabetum est Chrawaticum", i.e., "This is Croatian alphabet".

Mr. Mauricij Frka-Petešić speaking about his monograph Glagoljica u Salima
(Glagolitic Script in the town of Sali on the island of Dugi otok), written jointly with Ante Beverin and Jerolim Armanini.

The town of Sali has a lovely seal in which the name of the town is written in Croatian Glagolitic Script.

An interesting discussion followed the lecture, in which fra Vlatko Marić,
secretary of AMCA Paris, also participated. Behind him on the left is father Tomislav Kraljević.
