|Sandra Perković, young Croatian athlete, is the best discus thrower among women in the world today. Olympic champion in 2012, double European champion (2010 in Barcelona and in 2012 in Helsinki), winner of many international competitions during the past several years, in 2013 she became the world champion during the World Athletics Competition held in Moscow. She is also the winner of the 2013 Diamond League. Sandra is one of the greatest sportswomen in the history of Croatian sport, next to famous Janica Kostelić (skiing superstar) and Blanka Vlašić (high-jumping superstar). |
Sandra Perkovic, discus thrower, was only at the age of 19 when she won gold medal at the European Athletics Championships Barcelona 2010. She became the youngest ever winner of discus throw competition among woman. In 2012, during the Summer Olympic Games in London, she won Olympic women's discus title with a Croatian national record throw of 69.11m, in front of girls from Russia and China. In the 2012 European Championships in Helsinki she won gold medal. In 2013 she becam the world champion in discus throw, during the World Attheltics Championship in Moscow. Together with Janica Kostelić (skiing superstar) and Blanka Vlašić (high-jumping superstar), Sandra Perković is one of the greatest sportswomen in the history of Croatian sport.
