The ninth annual MMFender Awards will be held at club Sax! on November 27, 2012 starting at 9:00 p.m. The award is given to those musicians and non-musicians for their outstanding contribution to music and rock music in Croatia. Editor-in-Chief of CROWN, Nenad Bach will be receiving an award for his contributions for the promotion of Croatian music in the world. Congratulations to Nenad and all of this years award winners!

Održati će se deveta po redu dodjela nagrada MMFender koja se dodjeljuje za izniman doprinos u glazbi, posebice rock glazbi u Hrvatskoj i to glazbenicima, ali i istaknutim pojedincima koji su iako nisu glazbenici svojim iznimnim radom doprinjeli značaju rock glazbe u Hrvatskoj.

Prva dodjela nagrade održana je 1994. godine također u klubu Sax! a povodom 50-te obljetnice rođenja najpopularnije gitare u rocku - Fender Stratocastera. Od tada se redovito održava svake godine u Zagrebu, a u regionalnom obliku dodijeljena je u suradnji s Hrvatskom glazbenom unijom u Rijeci, Splitu i Osijeku. Neki od dosadašnjih dobitnika su: Dado Topić, Zdenka Kovačiček, Vedran Božić, Zele Lipovača, Parni Valjak, Prljavo Kazalište, Opća Opasnost, itd... Zanimljivost je da je posljednje vođenje i sudjelovanje u jednom glazbenom spektaklu istaknutog rock kritičara i glazbenog znalca, Dražena Vrdoljaka bilo baš prilikom dodjele nagrade MMF 1996. godine u klubu Boogaloo, kada je Dražen bio član odbora za dodjelu nagrade i voditelj dodjele nagrade.

Odbor nagrade 2012. činili su: Tomas Krkač, Gordan Penava Pišta, Zvonimir Bučević-Buč, Siniša Bizović i Adonis Dokuzović, a kao predsjednik ispred Fendera direktor za Europu Oliver Shuetz.

The ninth annual MMFender awards, which are awarded for outstanding contribution to music, especially rock music in Croatia for musicians, and prominent non-musicians, for their exceptional work that has contributed to the significance of rock music in Croatia will be held.

The first award ceremony was held in 1994, also at club Sax! to coincide with the 50th birthday of the most popular guitar in rock – the Fender Stratocaster. From then it has been held regularly every year in Zagreb and in a regional form was awarded in cooperation with the Croatian Musicians Union in Rijeka, Split and Osijek. Some of the previous winners are: Dado Topić, Zdenka Kovačiček, Vedran Božić, Zele Lipovača, Parni Valjak, Prljavo Kazalište, Opća Opasnost etc… It is interesting to note that the last hosting and participation in one musical spectacle was that of prominent rock critic and music connoisseur, Dražen Vrdoljak during the MMF award ceremony in 1996 in club Boogaloo, when Dražen was a member of the committee and hosted the awards ceremony.

The 2012 awards committee members were: Tomas Krkač, Gordan Penava Pišta, Zvonimir Bučević-Buč, Siniša Bizović and Adonis Dokuzović, and as president, Fender’s Director for Europe Oliver Shuetz.
