MIRO GAVRAN in NEW YORK Miro Gavran's play 'All About Women' will be premiered in New York on February 17 by STOREFRONT PRODUCTION at the Gallery MC in the West End. The translation into English was done by Nina H. Kay-Antoljak. Sanja Bestic is directing and the members of the cast are Alison Novelli, Jessica Duclos,Jennifer Prezioso,Karen Eilbacher,Kate Siepert,Olivia Hayes,Sheri Graubert and Tara Haight. The production will be the 32nd premiere of this play, which has been performed all over the world, first in Croatia and then in India, Brazil, Argentina and on to the Czech Republic,Slovakia, Slovenia,Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Poland,Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. This premiere in New York will be the first performance of the play in the United States. The play 'All About Women' is set in contemporary Zagreb, Croatia and portrays fifteen female characters of all ages in five different stories that are intertwined. The text skilfully combines drama and comedy, showing its heroines with a lot of affinity in their unusual relationships. To date, Miro Gavran's works have been traslated into thirty-five languages and his dramas and comedies have gone through more than two hundred premiere performances, his shows having been seen by over two million theatre-goers. Miro Gavran has been the most highly performed Croatian theatre writer over the last twenty years or so, both in Croatia and abroad. |
