He published several books an numerous articles, and some of the articles have been translated into Croatian. his very interesting brochure "France - Croatie, Aperçu des relations entre le XIe et le XIXe siecle", Lyon 1994. In its fifteen chapters, the brochure contains a wealth of data, some of them of interest also for specialists. His newest book is "Croatie - Sentinelle de l'Occident", 300 pp. |

| Mr. Cristophe Dolbeau is distinguished expert in Croatian-French relations, with a deep insight into Croatia's past and present. He published several books an numerous articles, and some of the articles have been translated into Croatian. His publications were important in order to understand various aspects Croatian-French relations during the past centuries, as well as the events in Croatia itself. They also served as a stimulus for our interest in this subject, and for this we owe him our deep gratitude. I do not know him in person, but had opportunity and honour to communicate with him in a written form. From this I can say that he is a pleasant and aggreable person. Let us mention only in passing his very interesting brochure "France - Croatie, Aperçu des relations entre le XIe et le XIXe siecle", Lyon 1994, ISBN 2-9503244-4-4. In its fifteen chapters, the brochure contains a wealth of data, some of them of interest also for specialists. We have learned from Mr. Cristophe Dolbeau that he plans the expanded version in the book form. We await eagerly its publication, hoping that he will be supported both by Croatian and French instituions. It would be of interest to be translated into Croatian, as well his other books. |

Cristophe Dolbeau published his monograph "Croatian Armed Froces 1941-1945" in Lyon in 2002, 94 pp.
In his monograph [Les forces armées croates 1941-1945, p. 18] Cristophe Dolbeau mentions organizing and protecting the escape of three boats in the Black Sea to Turkey in 1944, overcrowded with Roumanian Jews: Peu expérimenté (au débout tout au moins) et plutot mal équipé, la Légion Maritime Croate s'est parfaitement bien comportée tout au long de ses trois ans de présence en Mer Noire où l'amirauté allemande n'a eu qu'à se féliciter de son action. Bon soldats, les marins croates ont combattu dans l'honneur et sans haine : ainsi, le 24 mars et le 21 avril 1944, ont-ils organisé et protégé la fuite en Turquie de trois navires (le Milka, le Marcia et le Bella Citta) remplis de Juifs roumains... De retour à Zagreb le 21 mai 1944, ces matelots auront droit à un bref repos avant de reprendre la mer, dans l'Adriatique cette fois, et pour défendre les rivages de leur patrie.Source www.croatianhistory.net |
